Academic Choral Chappel „Doina” 90 years of excellence in music

     

The Academic Choral Chapel „Doina”, one of the most representative and remarcable choral  group from Republic of Moldova, celebrates its 90 years of artistic activity in an extraordinary concert with the generic „The legend of Choral Art”.

The rich concert history achieved in a huge territorial space, which includes several countries of the world, has allowed this group to be deeply venerated and appreciated by both specialists and the public.

The helm of the Academic Choral Chappel „Doina”, the longest running choral collective from Republic of Moldova, have seen through out the time many notorious personalities such as: C. Pigrov, D. Gerșfeld, M. Kononenko, V. Minin, V. Garștea, so that the repertoire of the group was growing fast, containing an amalgam of both laic and sacred creations, from preclasicism to contemporaneity, including national choral music and universal. On 15 January 2021, the company’s strong activity was noted in the award of „Gavriil Musicescu” in the music field.

Because 2020 marked a number of important events, among them the 180 years since the birth of the great Russian composer P. I. Ceaikovski, first part of the concert will be dedicated to this prominent music representative.

In the second part of the concert we’ll listen the creations signed by native composers: G. Musicescu,  S. Neaga, Z. Tcaci, V. Zagorschi, C. Rusnac, T. Chiriac, Gh. Mustea, Gh. Ciobanu.

Along with the protagonists of the concert – Academic Choral Chapel „Doina”, artistic director and chief conductor Ilona Stepan – the Duet of pianists natolie Lapicus and Iurie Mahovici will evolve.
