Nicolae PALIȚ, Artist of the People
Nicolae Paliţ was born on January 25, 1958. He graduated from the State Conservatory of Chișinău.
During 1994-1996, he studied at the Academy of Public Administration, specialty - International Relations.
From 2001 to 2002, he is working as an adviser at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova.
Between years of 2002-2004, he is executive director and soloist of the National Academic Ensemble of Folk Dances „Joc”.
As a soloist of „Folclor” orchestra, he has been working since 2004.
In 2008, he was awarded the title – Honored Artist of the Republic of Moldova and in the same year, he is the Head of the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the World Delphic Games, second edition. As a member of the Union of Musicians of the Republic of Moldova, he has been working since 2001.
He was awarded the following prizes:
- in 1999 - Laureate of the International Folklore Festival, Poland;
- 1998 - Laureate of the International Folklore Festival „The Moldavian rose”, Iasi, Romania;
- 1996 - Laureate of the International Folklore Festival, Egypt;
- in 1995 - first Prize at the Republican Folk Performers Contest „Tamara Ciobanu”.
He recorded several albums: „Who does not feel lonesome” CD (2003); The CD „Love is a rare gem” (2007); DVD „I sing love and tender” (2008); The CD and DVD „Song, longing and relief” (2012) and a documentary film – „Moldovan, that's my name” (2006).
For outstanding merits, in 2016 the Government awarded him with the honorary title - Artist of the People.
